We are a safe space ally: Our community welcomes and respects ALL people. We believe that persons of any colour, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression should be treated with dignity and respect.
We are a community of faith, continually working to strengthen our commitment to love God, do God's will, and be spiritually and materially transformed in that relationship. Our vision is to reach out to the wider community to to fulfill and share this purpose. We demonstrate faith in action in everything we do. We are committed to being accessible to all, in accordance with The Accessibility for Manitobans Act. Our policy document is available here. Our Sunday morning worship service is a Book of Alternative Services (BAS) Eucharist. Everyone is welcome to come to Christ's table, and/or to receive anointing. We offer a Sunday School program during the service (the children return in time to receive communion). Education to enable spiritual growth is offered in many forms including parish conferences, Lenten study groups, book studies, special events and courses. A number of parishioners are licensed to bring healing ministry and anointing to the sick. We offer a monthly Eucharistic worship service at two neighbourhood nursing homes. Healing and prayer services are also held throughout the year when special needs arise. The Asian Christian Fellowship (Winnipeggers from India and Pakistan) worship in Urdu in our building one Sunday each month. We are very involved in and support various local, national and international outreach programs including but not limited to St. Matthews-Maryland Community Ministry, Youville Clinic, The Bishop's Fund, Jubilee Fund, Christmas Cheer Board, Habitat for Humanity and the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF). |
We have a long history of refugee sponsorship, helping to settle families from a number of countries. We support Diocesan programs related to our partner diocese in Central Buganda (Uganda). We offer the church hall and meeting rooms to community groups (see the monthly calendar), the largest being the Vital Seniors, which runs a number of well-attended programs and activities. Others include Girl Guides of Canada and Scouts Canada youth organizations, and dance, exercise and self-help groups. This is just a snapshot of who we are. To learn more, join us next Sunday morning. |
